At Squaïr, we create pieces designed to accompany you for years. With a little care, they will keep their color, their softness, and the way they fall. Store them flat and untied, away from direct sunlight and heat, using the tissue paper provided to protect the surface. Keep perfume, cosmetics, and oils away from the fabric, and give them a moment to dry on skin before tying anything on. Be mindful of rings, watch clasps, and rough jewelry, which pull threads faster than anything else. Worn often and cared for simply, a Squaïr only gets better with time.
SILK CARE
Our silk pieces are printed on mulberry silk, chosen for its luminous color, refined texture, and fluid movement. Dry clean only, to preserve the richness of the print and the integrity of the fiber. Keep silk away from water, which marks it permanently, and never wring or twist it. To refresh, steam lightly, or iron on low heat on the reverse with a soft cloth between the iron and the fabric. Work around the hand rolled hem rather than over it, so the roll keeps its shape.
COTTON CARE
Our cotton pieces are made for ease, comfort, and everyday wear. Hand wash, or machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors, on their own the first few times. Skip the bleach and the fabric softener. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry naturally, reshaping the square while it is still damp, out of direct sun. If ironing is needed, use medium heat with a cloth between the iron and the fabric.
For anything specific, always follow the instructions on the care label sewn into your piece.
